Qualification: A Graduate/ Master’s degree holder preference will be given for candidates who have worked in this sector having a track record of publication relevant to the need of this program. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in program development and implementation in the marine sector. A minimum of 2 years of experience with statistical programs for forecasting and viability analysis. Willingness to travel. Excellent communication and writing skills in English
Job Responsibilities: Undertake studies and analyse trends on select marine species in trade (flora and fauna), impact on conservation of those species and economics of trade for the species. Help maintain a database of select marine species that are in trade and update regularly – the status in trade. Prepare half-yearly and annual updates on select marine species in trade, and flag surge in trade for selected marine species, whenever encountered. Provide necessary
technical backstopping and inputs for development and implementation of projects, reports and articles for TRAFFIC India communications, policy drafts, identification and training tools for government authorities who are responsible for wildlife trade regulation and conservation. Produce GAP assessment on marine species in trade to determine and guide future priorities for combating illegal and unsustainable wildlife marine trade. Coordinate/ share information and develop joint actions and projects with WWF India Marine Program as required.
