Qualification: Degree in Naval Architecture from a recognized University or equivalent*. * The interpretation of ‘EQUIVALENT’ here means any Technical Institution recognised by AICTE/UGC and not to be construed as Educational Qualification
Age Limit: 40 years
Experience Requirements: Five years practical experience in design/ installation/construction of ships. NOTE- : Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Job Responsibilities: (i) Undertake basic and detailed design activities of mechanical/marine engineering system of new designs and their modifications related to design of Ships submarines and yard crafts. (ii) Scrutinise, analyse and approve quotations, specifications, calculation and drawings received from outside agencies, formulate the basic design procedures/suitability criteria. (iii) Prepare SOTR’s for ship systems and equipment. (iv) Monitor various activities related to ship construction
