Qualification: a. A Cat 'B; Hydrographer / SR-1 from a IHO Certified Institute OR B.Tech (Civil Engg.) / B.Tech (Survey Engg.) OR Associate Member of Institution of Surveyors in Subdivision I(B) b. Minimum post qualification,
experience of 15 years in conducting Hydrographic Survey, investigation and measurements. Bathymetric Surveys (as per SP 44 standards), Topographic Survey in a variety of Geographical locations. Experience in waterways/port/river mapping with proficiency in using the GIS Software working knowledge, Spatial data formats and related metadata issues Working knowledge on S-57 data and ENC. Working knowledge of web mapping applications such as Google Earth, Bhuvan. Caris GIs etc
Pay Scale: Rs. 85,000/- (Eighty Five Thousand only) per month.
Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on closing date of receipt of application
Desirable Qualifications: Good knowledge of mechanisms of DGPS, Single Beam & Multibeam Echo Sounder, Hypack, Sweep, calculation of dredging volumes using Dredge Pack, Global Mapper, calculation of Tide and Co-Tidal, Sounding Datum.
Job Responsibilities: The Consultant would be responsible for, but not limited, to the following activities; 1.Checking of Hydrography Survey data (Surveyed line KM measurement, datum fixing, tide reduction, dredging quantity calculations etc.). 2. Checking of Survey Charts and digital data on Google Earth/Erdas Imagine. 3. Checking of detailed field reports and results of Hydrography Surveys data. 4. Analysis of Hydrography Surveys data. 5. Digitalization of data pertaining to rivers/canals. 6. Advising on viability assessment, economic analysis, technical configurations of projects. 7. Assessing in preparation, evaluation & finalization of bid document. 8. Any other work assigned by the Chairman or Member(Technical) or Hydrographic Chief of IWAI. 9. Any other work assigned by the Nodal Officer. 10. Looking after RIS LAD and other Navigational issues.

General Instructions: The engagement on purely contractual basis in IWAI shall be regulated as per the following guidelines: i) Individuals (Non-Government/private/Multinational/consultancy Firms) or Retired Employees from Govt. / Autonomous Bodies with requisite qualifications and experience as prescribed would be eligible for being engaged as consultants. However, the engagement shall not be considered as a case of re-employment. ii) The engagement would be for a fixed period for providing high quality services to IWAI as per offer of Agreement/Letter of engagement. iii) The engagement would be on fulltime basis, unless specified, and they would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of engagement with IWAI.
